You’re checking your handbag for keys, wallet, and phone while shouting, “Have you got your shoes on yet!?” or, “Oh my goodness, your HAIR!”.
You look across the kitchen and see dirty cereal bowls, a few splashes of milk on the counter, an open cereal packet, a chopping board covered in crumbs, a knife with vegemite all up the handle… mess mess mess.
Feeling deflated, you sigh and think to yourself, “I don’t have time for this right now. I’ll do it later.”
Later, you get home feeling tired, which turns to frustration as the kids push past you through the front door, kicking off their shoes and dropping their bags in the middle of the room.
All you want is for dinner to make itself so you can get the kids off to bed and have that moment of peace you’ve been craving all day.
But, the breakfast mess is still there.
And the lunchbox mess.
You’ve stopped seeing the pile of stuff in the corner because it’s been there so long it might actually be in the family photos from last Christmas.
“I don’t have time for this”, you say to yourself again.
You mumble something about needing a minute to escape into your phone.
You open an app without even thinking about it and see post after post with phrases like, “Live in the moment!”, “Enjoy the little things!” and worst of all, “They’re only little for a little while!”.
It doesn’t feel uplifting.
If anything, it feels like ‘living in the moment’ is just another thing to add to the never-ending to do list!
Do you have a version of this story ?
A lot of my clients do.
The good news is that you can choose to change the narrative by learning habits and strategies that will make those mornings run more smoothly, and help you to deal with the mess of everyday life.
Yes, you can figure it out on your own, but it’s faster and easier with help.
That’s why I offer (no obligation) free calls for anyone who wants to understand what they should do next to move away from clutter and chaos, and towards getting a better understanding of how to manage their environment.
